M. Abdullah Khan is an Electrical & Electronics Engineering researcher, innovation leader, and the Founder and Director of NextGen Research Lab, an independent research ecosystem dedicated to empowering the next generation of researchers, engineers, innovators, and technology leaders.

He holds a BSc in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from United International University (UIU), Bangladesh, with a specialization and strong interest in electronics, robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), embedded systems, industrial automation, and space technology, complemented by extensive hands-on experience in robotics, engineering projects, interdisciplinary research, and technology-driven innovation.

Abdullah's professional journey reflects a combination of research, engineering, leadership, communication, and community building. He has worked as a research assistant and has been involved with organizations and initiatives including the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) and IEEE, contributing to research, outreach, professional networking, and opportunities for young engineers and researchers. He has also taken leadership roles in university-based technical and student organizations, helping build communities around science, engineering, robotics, and innovation.

His research portfolio spans a broad range of interdisciplinary challenges, including IoT security and privacy, smart healthcare, sustainable water technologies, climate resilience, robotics, space systems, smart infrastructure, and emerging engineering technologies.

Beyond research, Abdullah has developed a strong record of project leadership, technical communication, public speaking, research collaboration, and innovation management. His involvement in space and robotics initiatives, including UIU's CanSat activities and international space-related research reflects his broader ambition to connect engineering education with real-world technological challenges.

Afruja Islam Asha is an emerging researcher, technology enthusiast, and Co-Founder of NextGen Research Lab, where she works toward building a collaborative research and innovation ecosystem for young researchers and technology enthusiasts.

She pursued her BSc in Computer Science & Engineering at Hamdard University Bangladesh, developing a strong foundation in technology and applied research. Her academic and research interests have increasingly focused on Internet of Things (IoT), smart systems, sustainable technology, and technology-driven solutions for real-world challenges. Her university work includes involvement in an IoT-enabled smart water management system for agriculture, reflecting her interest in applying emerging technologies to sustainability and resource management.

Among her notable research contributions is the study "Solar-Powered Water Purification with Smart Monitoring," presented at the IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter Summer Symposium 2025.

Beyond research, Afruja is passionate about innovation, collaboration, technical learning, research communication, and empowering young people to engage with science and technology. Her involvement with technology-focused initiatives such as Electra Bytes, alongside M. Abdullah Khan, further reflects her commitment to creating accessible opportunities for learning, experimentation, and technological exploration.

As Co-Founder of NextGen Research Lab, Afruja contributes to the organization's vision of creating an inclusive and interdisciplinary platform where students and emerging researchers can develop ideas, conduct meaningful research, collaborate across disciplines, and transform innovative concepts into practical solutions.
